Very nice m8. Well, look at this:"when you understand the why of your cat's actions". I still believe "the" can be used together with "why" when this one works like a substantive.

Although in some cases people came to use the prior to why, to indicate the reason(s) of something, I have to conclude that it is grammatically incorrect. Yet, as in many other instances, so many countries use English language that the real use can differ from the correct grammar, especially in certain countries. (e.g. I say "I learnt", but in North America they use "I learned")

I got it. In truth, even looking around i found few web pages showing "the why". But please, forgive me, that mistake is not THAT huge. Anyway didn't see this thread before, i'll be back again and again. Thanks for your time. Imbarazzato

Don't need to ask forgiveness about anything. I am a big fun of improving the knowledge of foreign languages among Italians, because it helped me and I hope it can help a lot of other people.
